FD - HK friends

Page history last edited by jho 2 yrs ago

I have been back to Hong Kong several times as a 'fun' trip with our family friends.

We all met pretty much in Chinese school for two hours every saturday.  Our parents would play mahjongg afterwards and the kids would fool around and either play sports, watch tv, other games, or just hanging out in general.  As we grew older, we started becoming more mature (and had cars) we'd go out more, and possibly not even show up with the parents.  Just a sign of growing up, I suppose.

Though we grew farther apart, we still remained friends.  Our families kept in touch, and we went to Hong Kong twice (a few years apart, during the summer breaks).

In Hong Kong, we would pretty much do the same stuff that we would do in the states, with touristy-stuff tossed in here and there.  The parents would still play mahjongg, and the kids would go out and shop/eat, but fancier than we'd do in America.

Two scenes that stick out in my mind were riding the tram up to Victoria Peak,

and getting to pick out and eat our own fresh seafood.
