My family drove to Disneyworld the summer after my 5th grade.
The drive there was just as I expected it to be - long, boring, and uneventful. (I'm not sure what you expect with two boys around 10 years old driving for over a day, but ..)
I distinctly remember three things that didn't relate to the theme parks:
1) We ate at a really nice Olive Garden, next to a window with with wooden blinds, and we could see our van.
2) For some reason we watched Mission Impossible when we got in. I think it was too late to do any touristy stuff. To say the least, I was confused as hell (about the movie, that is).
3) It rained. A lot.
Day 1:
Yep, the most boring of them all. I didn't go on vacation looking to be educated, so I didn't exactly pay much attention to the science and culture stuff.
Day 2: I think it was Animal Kingdom. Must not have been very good, because I don't remember anything about it.
Day 3:
Magic Kingdom: I remember the space mountain thing because the line was so long, and I really liked the ride. I remember the Aliens 'ride' thing that was just supposed to scare you .. it 'spit' on us and I thought it was pretty lame. The other ride that I remember very vividly was the Tower of Terror. Something like a 13 story drop scared my mother half to death.
Day 4: MGM didn't really leave a mark on me, seeing as I don't remember any of it.
